Terms and Conditions

To enter the FreeStyle Libre Facebook competition, you must share a photo and in 100 words or less explain how the FreeStyle Libre has seamlessly integrated into your daily routine.

  1. The prize is ‘years supply’ of FreeStyle Libre sensors which is defined as 26 sensors, delivered to the winner over a 12 month period.
  2. All entries submitted will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions and all participants will be bound by these terms and conditions.
  3. Submissions must comply with these terms and conditions to be valid. Abbott Diabetes Care (a division of Abbott Australasia Pty Ltd) (ADC) reserves the right to disqualify any entry in breach of these terms and conditions.
  4. To enter the FreeStyle Libre Facebook competition, an individual must:
    1. Post an entry including:
      1. a photo of you with your FreeStyle LibreLink App or FreeStyle Libre Reader and story in 100 words or less explaining how you have seamlessly integrated FreeStyle Libre into your daily routine.
      2.  The entry must be submitted via a Facebook post that is visible to the public and must include the hashtag #WinWithFreeStyle
    2. Have a valid Facebook account.
  5. To be eligible to enter, an individual must:
    1. Be an Australian resident aged 18 years old or over;
    2. Be living with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes, using insulin to manage their diabetes and using/has used the the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System; OR
    3. Be submitting an entry on behalf of a friend or family member (with their permission) who is an Australian resident aged 4 years or over, living with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes, using insulin to manage their diabetes and using/has used the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System ; and
    4. Complete a full entry in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  6. Individuals living with gestational diabetes, or stories submitted on behalf of someone living with gestational diabetes, are not eligible for entry.
  7. Any Abbott Group Employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter this competition or win a prize.
  8. Healthcare professionals and Government Officials are not eligible to enter this competition or win a prize.
  9. Any Overdose Employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter this competition or win a prize.
  10. ADC understands that everyone’s diabetes experience is unique and that entries submitted will reflect the diversity of the lives of people living with diabetes and the varied user experiences.
  11. Stories must not:
    1. Include medical advice or recommendations;
    2. Contain inaccurate, misleading or non-factual information;
    3. Contain photos of those aged under 4 years;
    4. Contain any profanity;
    5. Contain language or images that are derogatory, defamatory or disrespectful towards an individual, another company or organisation (including patient advocacy groups or diabetes bodies);
    6. Contain language or images that are deemed inappropriate, offensive or abusive. This includes comments, symbols or slogans that offend on the basis of race, religion, gender or sexuality, or statements that are intended merely to offend;
    7. Contain language, banners, symbols or slogans in a language other than English that cannot be translated or understood, or could be deemed inappropriate or offensive;
    8. Challenge any other submissions that might include experiences or opinions that are different to their own;
    9. Contain competitor brand names;
    10. Contain or are considered spam;
    11. Contain comments that could encourage improper or dangerous behaviour;
    12. Contain comments that suggest impropriety of an individual who could reasonably be identified;
    13. Contain comments that identify a third party individual who is not already in the public domain;
    14. Contain threatening language against another individual;
    15. Contain images or comments that depict or explain product usage outside of the current, approved indication from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) or those of the product user manuals; nor,
    16. Contain details of a serious adverse event (e.g., death or serious injury) that violates the TGA guidelines or violates the TGA advertising code (e.g., presenting the use of the product in a manner which may mislead or deceive consumers).   12. ADC will monitor submissions using the #WinWithFreeStyle at the end of each competition period.  The competition periods are as below:
    1. Week 1 – Midnight Wednesday 4th December to 11:59pm Tuesday 10th December.
    2. Week 2 – Midnight Wednesday 11th December to 11:59pm Tuesday 17th December.
    3. Week 3 – Midnight Wednesday 18th December to 11:59pm Tuesday 24th December.
  13. Week 4 – Midnight Wednesday 25th December to 11:59pm Tuesday 31st December.
  14. Winners will be chosen based on originality and innovation and the winning entry will be announced on the Monday after each competition week through Facebook.
  15. Winners must claim their prize within 6 months of Abbott making the relevant winning announcement otherwise the prize is deemed to be forfeited.
  16. A different winner will be announced each week as previous winners will be ineligible to enter subsequent weekly competitions.
  17. ADC reserves the right at any time, and at their sole discretion, to report a product complaint, adverse events or off-label use.
  18. Failure by ADC to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  19. No responsibility will be accepted for submissions lost, damaged or delayed. No responsibility will be taken for technical, telecommunication or website error, data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any website or online service, any other error or malfunction, lost, illegible or misdirected entries. ADC does not accept responsibility for network, computer or software failures of any kind, which may restrict or delay the sending or receipt of your submission.
  20. ADC reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions. If for any reason that ADC is not capable of running the competition as planned, ADC is not in any way responsible either legally or morally for cancelling, terminating, modifying or suspending the competition.
  21. Any personal data relating to entries submitted will be used solely for the purposes of this campaign by ADC and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent.
  22. Where a submitter has shared their entry, the submitter grants ADC (at ADC’s sole discretion) the right to repost and share the submitted entry  with selected media outlets, including TV, print, radio, social media and online.
  23. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of each State and Territory of Australia and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the various Australian States and/ or Territories as applicable.
  24. The views, opinions and positions expressed by any submitter are theirs alone, and do not necessarily reflect the views, opinions or positions of ADC or any employee thereof.
  25. This campaign is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social network.
