3 easy steps to start scanning your sensor using your phone
1 Open the FreeStyle LibreLink app
Point your phone towards the newly applied sensor and scan.
2 Wait 60 minutes
You will need to wait for 60 minutes after the sensor has been applied. Your phone will provide a countdown.
3 Scan the sensor with your phone
After 60 minutes you will receive a notification on the FreeStyle LibreLink app, letting you know the sensor is ready.

Fully customisable alarms
Follow these steps to set up the optional alarms:
The signal loss alarm is automatically turned on when glucose alarm is turned ON; Signal Loss Alarm: Notifies you when your sensor has not communicated with the app for 20 minutes and you are not receiving Low or High Glucose Alarms.
To receive optional alarms on your phone, you must scan your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with your phone first, you cannot use your reader.
You choose which device you want to receive alarms: FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or FreeStyle LibreLink app. You must start your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that selected device. Once you scan your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that device, you can receive alarms only on that device.
*Optional alarms are only available when using FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors
IMPORTANT
If your alarm is not available, this is indicated by a red exclamation mark on the menu and on the bell symbol.

To receive optional alarms on your phone, you must scan your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with your phone first. You must choose which device you want to receive alarms on: FreeStyle LibreLink app or FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. You must start your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with the device you want to recieve the alarms on. Once you scan your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with the preferred device, you will receive alarms only on that device.
*FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors do NOT record the location and cannot send this information to the FreeStyle LibreLink app.

The FreeStyle Libre 2 system has 3 alarms:
The FreeStyle LibreLink app is intended to be used with only one sensor (and one person) at a time. Each app account is associated with one person. However, people who use the FreeStyle LibreLink app can connect with their caregivers if they are using a separate app called LibreLinkUp. LibreLinkUp allows caregivers to remotely monitor glucose readings performed by their loved ones.
Ø FreeStyle LibreLink is a mobile application. Use of FreeStyle LibreLink requires registration with LibreView, a service provided by Abbott and Newyu, Inc. Data charges may apply when downloading the FreeStyle LibreLink or LibreLinkUp apps. FreeStyle Libre readers and sensors are provided by Abbott.
The FreeStyle LibreLink app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check our compatibility guide for more information about device compatibility before using the app. The FreeStyle LibreLink app and the FreeStyle Libre reader have similar but not identical features.
*Compatible smartwatches are smartwatches that support notification mirroring. To receive alarms from the FreeStyle LibreLink app on your smartwatch, alarms must be turned ON, your phone and smartwatch must be connected, and your devices configured to deliver notifications.
^Finger pricks are required if your glucose readings and alarms do not match symptoms or expectations.
¥ The FreeStyle Libre 2 system has optional glucose alarms. Alarms need to be turned on in order to receive low and high glucose alarms.
