Meet Rachael: Adventurer, mum and wife
Rachael is someone who lives for the moment. Whether she’s camping with her dogs or exploring new cultures, she thrives on new experiences.
She says “I’ll choose experiences over things every single time”. As a proud wife and mother, family connection and creating life long memories is what gives her purpose.
From pre-diabetes to type 2: a 17-Year journey
Rachael’s diabetes journey began during her second pregnancy. For 17 years, she hovered in the pre-diabetes range – until she was officially diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
“I was told I’d be on medication for life”, she recalls.
When her doctor recommended stronger medication, Rachael felt like she wasn’t making progress. “I filled the script, got into my car, and cried. I didn’t want this for myself”.
Discovering the FreeStyle Libre 2 System
Instead of giving up, Rachael took action. She booked an appointment with her healthcare professional and began making small but impactful changes – adjusting portion sizes, shifting food choices, and finding a sustainable balance.
“I was already eating well and exercising. It was about fine-tuning”.
