Why your voice is crucial
In 2024, the Parliamentary Inquiry into Diabetes called for expanded CGM subsidies, especially for people with type 2 insulin-requiring diabetes.
The Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) subsequently held a public consultation in 2025 to hear directly from the diabetes community about how expanded CGM subsidies would improve their lives. Many Australians stepped forward and shared their stories.
The response was powerful, but MSAC deferred its decision, requiring more evidence and more stories before a decision could be made.
