How to Access Libre 3 Plus

Libre 3 Plus is available through the NDSS Type 1 CGM subsidy for Australians with type 1 diabetes who are using the mylife YpsoPump with mylife CamAPS FX for automated insulin delivery. It is not currently available as a standalone device in Australia.

Switching to Libre 3 Plus from another CGM

Your authorised healthcare professional can submit an ‘Update or ceasing access form’ (sometimes referred to as a ‘switch form’) to the NDSS on your behalf. They can easily do this via an online portal, and access can be confirmed within minutes if all required information is supplied. The NDSS will notify you via email or letter when your updated access has been approved.

  • How do I update my NDSS access to FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors?

    Once the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor is available via the NDSS subsidy scheme, your authorised healthcare professional can submit an ‘Update or ceasing access form’ (sometimes referred to as a ‘switch form’) to the NDSS on your behalf. They can easily do this via an online portal, and access can be confirmed within minutes if all required information is supplied. The NDSS will notify you via email or letter when your upgraded access has been approved.     If you are planning to switch to FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, for a smooth transition we recommend ensuring you have two weeks’ supply of your current CGM product before the ‘switch form’ is submitted by your healthcare professional.

  • How many subsidised FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors will I be able to order at one time from an NDSS Access Point?

    A maximum of 3 months’ worth of sensors (6x FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors) can be ordered per transaction. Please note, annual limits apply.

  • What will the co-payment amount be for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors if I am not receiving full subsidy?

    The co-payment amount for the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor will be confirmed closer to the product availability date.

  • Will the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor be available through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA?)

    The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor is not currently available to purchase online from FreeStyleLibre.com.au. The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor can currently only be accessed through the NDSS CGM subsidy scheme.

  • Does the FreeStyle Libre 3 sensor work with any other insulin pumps/AID systems, such as the Omnipod 5 system or Tandem t:slim X2?

    In Australia, the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor currently only works with the mylife Loop system (mylife Ypsopump and mylife CamAPS FX) for automated insulin delivery.
